Anderson Resident Killed in Redding Crash

REDDING, CA (August 17, 2021) – A two-vehicle crash on Old Oregon Trail claimed the life of a 22-year-old driver last Wednesday, police said.

Officers responded to the incident around 7:20 p.m., in the area of Old Oregon Trail and Dir Kinder Way.

Upon arrival, officers located a 2002 Honda Accord with severe damage in a field just west of Old Oregon Trail.

In addition, the police also discovered the 22-year-old driver from Anderson, outside the vehicle and declared them dead at the scene.

Later on, investigations revealed that the Honda crossed the double yellow lines while going southbound on Old Oregon Trail.

As a result, it collided with a 2014 Ford F-150 driven by a 62-year-old Castella resident.

Furthermore, the investigators pointed out that the Honda Accord driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
