Woman Pronounced Dead after Single-Vehicle Rollover Collision near Highway 166

BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 22, 2023) – Monday morning, Terrell Williams was hospitalized after a fatal rollover crash on Highway 99.

The incident occurred around 2:26 a.m., just north of Highway 166. First responders arrived to the scene shortly after receiving multiple dispatch calls in the area.

According to reports, the female driver of a 2003 Nissan Sentra was traveling at a high rate of speed and made an unsafe turn.  The Nissan then veered off the road into the right shoulder before overturning onto its roof.

Medical personnel arrived and pronounced the female driver dead at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics transported the passenger, 38-year-old Terrell Williams of Bakersfield to Kern Medical with minor injuries. Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties before it was later reopened to traffic.

Investigators say both occupants were not wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash. At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.
