One Dead after Fiery Rear-End Collision near Green River Road

CORONA, CA (February 15, 2022) – A fiery vehicle crash on 91 Freeway claimed the life of one driver Wednesday night.

According to California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 10:00 p.m. on the westbound lanes of the freeway, just west of Green River Road.

Furthermore, authorities claimed that a Toyota Camry in the No. 1 Lane suddenly broke down and stalled. Shortly after, a Toyota Highlander traveling in the same lane failed to brake and rear-ended the sedan, causing the Camry to catch fire.

Eventually, the Corona Fire Department arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, the driver of the Camry was pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the two occupants inside the Highlander managed to avoid the flames but sustained unspecified non-life-threatening injuries.

At this time, Corona Officials are working to identify the circumstances surrounding the fiery crash at 91 Freeway.
