One Dead after Fiery Collision near Irvine Center Drive

IRVINE, CA (December 21, 2021) – Thursday afternoon, one person was killed in a fiery car accident on the 405 Freeway.

According to the police, the incident happened around 1:30 p.m., when the driver lost control of the vehicle in the southbound lanes.

As a result, the vehicle veered toward the center median and broadsided a vehicle near Irvine Center Drive. According to the CHP, the driver who lost control may have been speeding on the slick pavement.

Due to the impact of the collision, the vehicle caught fire and trapped the driver inside. The unidentified driver died at the scene, according to the first responders.

At this time, San Diego Officials are still currently investigating the fiery crash.
