Auto Accident on Chamberlaine Way Results in Fatality

ADELANTO, CA (October 29, 2021) – A vehicle collision on Thomas Court and Chamberlaine Way left one teen dead last Sunday afternoon.

The fatal incident occurred around 12:00 p.m., near the intersection on October 24th. Dispatchers responded to the scene shortly after.

Investigators determined that a westbound vehicle attempted to pass other cars over the double yellow lines. For reasons unknown, the vehicle sideswiped another vehicle and lost control, crashing through two fences and into the side of a residence.

As a result of the impact, the gas meter broke off, causing a gas leak.

Meanwhile, officials red-tagged the involved residence due to structural damage and evacuated several other homes.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, first responders declared the 17-year-old driver dead at the scene. At this time, Adelanto officials continue to investigate the gas leak incident.
