One Hospitalized after Collision near Vee Quiva Way

PHOENIX, AZ (March 1, 2022) – A wrong-way crash in Loop 202 left a driver injured Monday evening, authorities said.

The crash happened around 11:50 p.m., on Loop 202 South Mountain near Vee Quiva Way.

For reasons unknown, the driver of a vehicle struck a semi-truck while heading south in the northbound lanes of traffic.

Eventually, paramedics took the wrong-way driver to a hospital for further treatment of unspecified injuries. Meanwhile, the driver of the semi-truck also sustained minor injuries.

Moreover the crash prompted the closure of several lanes for multiple hours while police investigated the scene, but reopened around 5:30 a.m.

Authorities have not yet identified the victims involved. At this time, an active investigation is currently underway.
