Trucker Impaled after Beam Slides into Semi-Truck near El Cajon

EL CAJON, CA (January 20, 2022) – Tuesday afternoon, a driver was impaled and killed in a big-rig accident on Interstate 8.

According to California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred shortly before 3:00 p.m., in East County.

Upon investigation, police determined that a blue single-cab Peterbilt truck came to a stop in the No. 1 lane. Per reports, large beams being transferred in the big-rig shifted forward and into the back of the truck’s cab, impaling and killing the driver.

At this time, the name of the business operating the vehicle remains unknown.

El Cajon officials are still currently working to identify the circumstances surrounding the big-rig accident.
