DUI Hit-and-Run on Del Sol Boulevard Hospitalized One Person

SAN DIEGO, CA (October 27, 2021) – One unidentified driver sustained injuries Saturday after a suspected DUI hit-and-run on Del Sol Boulevard.

The accident happened along eastbound Del Sol Boulevard just after midnight on October 16.

According to the CHP, a Camaro and a Mustang were racing on the road when the Camaro collided with a truck at high speeds.

The impact of the crash sent the truck flying over 100 feet before crashing onto multiple fences and then finally slamming into a shed.

Responding medics transported the truck driver, who had suffered a significant head injury, to a nearby hospital.

Meanwhile, witnesses reported the Camaro driver, who looked to be drunk, walked up to the truck crash and then escaped on foot.

At this time, authorities have not yet received any update on the victim’s current status.

Furthermore, an active investigation is currently underway.

Driving under the influence is one of the most dangerous things you can do as a driver. If you find yourself unable to safely drive, you can always contact a Lyft or Uber instead.
