1 Dead, 1 Injured Following Fatal Collision on Fletcher Parkway

LA MESA, CA (February 11, 2022) – An unidentified driver died early Monday morning, in a fatal solo-car crash on Fletcher Parkway.

The incident took place around 1:51 a.m., on February 7. Crews arrived in the 9000 block on the eastbound side of Fletcher Parkway.

According to authorities, the driver was heading east in a light blue 2018 Hyundai Genesis. For reasons unknown, the male driver lost control of the vehicle and flew off the road, striking at least one tree.

The force of the impact ejected the driver from the vehicle. When first responders arrived, they discovered the 32-year-old male driver deceased at the scene.

Meanwhile, medics transported the passenger, a 29-year-old man, to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Officials said it is uncertain if drugs or alcohol were involved at this time, although speed is thought to be a factor. At this time, La Mesa police continue to investigate the solo-car crash on Fletcher Parkway.
