DUI Collision on Woodside Avenue Sent Motorcyclist to Hospital

LAKESIDE, CA (November 19, 2021) – A motorcyclist sustained injuries after a DUI crash on Winter Gardens Boulevard on Saturday night.

The collision took place around 10:00 p.m. at the intersection of Winter Gardens Boulevard and Woodside Avenue.

CHP answered to a report of a man throwing rocks at Amy Way’s house on Lakeside. When they arrived at the scene, the driver then took off in a vehicle.

Officers tried to stop the driver, but the suspect took off and later ran a red light at the intersection. There, the driver crashed into a motorcycle rider.

Paramedics rushed the rider to a hospital for treatment of a possible broken ankle. Meanwhile, the driver at fault stopped after the crash and police detained him on the spot.

Lakeside police arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI, hit-and-run, and evasion of police officers.

At this time, an active investigation into the crash on Winter Gardens Boulevard is still underway.
