A Man Arrested after Not Stopping and Crashing into Firetruck on Highway 168

FRESNO, CA (September 16, 2021) –  A 21-year-old driver was arrested Wednesday after crashing into firetruck on Highway 168 in Fresno.

The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene last Wednesday on Highway 168 near Highway 180 after receiving reports of a vehicle colliding with the back of a firetruck and fleeing the scene.

Although the main cause and factor of the crash remain unknown. Officers eventually apprehended the unnamed 21-year-old driver at their home and and they are now facing hit-and-run charges.

Police did not release any additional information at this time. However, the collision on Highway 168 remain under investigation.

CHP also advised drivers to slow down or change lanes if possible if they come across an emergency vehicle with flashing lights.
