Yes, you’ll see plenty of dudes in dresses at Dragstrip 66, but the long-running dance club has never been your average queen scene. For 14 years now, it’s been infusing its monthly gatherings with outrageous themes that let regulars (including non-cross-dressers) go wild. For Saturday’s anniversary bash, the getups should be extra fierce. Ensembles embellished with flora, fauna and animal prints are requested for the ’strip’s “Wild Kingdom” night, which, fittingly, moves to Safari Sam’s for the occasion. Expect DJ Paul V’s mixes to be extra roarin’ too — not to mention the club’s famous midnight drag show (always live, never lip-synched), featuring wigged wonders Varla Jean Merman, Kay Sedia, Bridgette of Madison County, Tammy Faye Starlite and host Gina Lotriman. Welcome to the jungle indeed. Safari Sam’s, 5214 Sunset Blvd., Hlywd.; Sat., Jan. 20, 9 p.m.–2 a.m.; over 21; $15 (discount for drag). (323) 969-2596.
