One of Oprah’s favorite things is coming to Culver City. “Southern Sweet Maker to the Stars” Dr. Shica Little is bringing her signature Southern sweets and custom creations to Dr. Shica’s Bakery,   her permanent location at Westfield Culver City today.

For the past year, Little has been selling her red velvet cake and “Almost Famous” brownies at a pop-up shop on Melrose Avenue in Hollywood. A Doctor of Education and college professor in the educational services industry, she was laid off from her corporate job during the pandemic and pivoted to sweets. Her cookies and gourmet dessert boxes soon caught the attention of Oprah Winfrey and ended up in the top three on Oprah’s Favorite Things out of 15,000 entries.

The special dish, a Kampachi Crudo, which features Hawaiian Kampachi sliced into six sashimi pieces and laid atop segments of cara cara orange slices, will be available to Angelenos through Monday, May 31. A portion of the proceeds from the dish will be donated directly to Stop AAPI Hate.
