Legendary west coast hip hop producer Andre “Dr. Dre” Young, 55, was released from the hospital and will be monitored 24 hours a day after suffering a suspected brain aneurysm in early January, according to TMZ.

The six-time Grammy Award-winning producer/rapper was reportedly in intensive care at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles from January 4 to January 13, and was then transferred to a personal room within the hospital.

While still in the hospital, a message was sent out through Dr. Dre’s Instagram account on January 5, saying:

“Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes. I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!”

Fellow rapper Ice-T tweeted out that he had spoken to Dr. Dre on Friday and said that he “… made it home safe and looking good.”

According to the TMZ report, the cause of Dre’s aneurysm has not yet been determined by doctors.
