Tiny waists, big breasts, and curvy hips — a look celebrated in the 1950s with Marilyn Monroe and in the 1970s with Pam Grier — made a return this past decade through the confidence and glamor of the likes of Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez, Sofia Vergara, and Beyoncé.

Curvy bodies redefine beauty standards and promote inclusivity, and at the same time, they made a lot of women frantically search for the nearest “butt and waist” personal trainer so they could flaunt an hourglass figure of their own. However, turning that dream into reality can prove to be rather difficult.

As Dr. Alex Earle, a renowned Miami-based plastic surgeon, explains, many factors go into shaping an hourglass figure. Genetics, bone structure and shape, body type, and lifestyle all play a role. In fact, most people can’t attain this look with exercise alone. “If someone is straight up and down, no exercise or diet can change that into a more curvaceous shape,” says Dr. Alex Earle. “In that case, the best way to create an hourglass figure is to surgically add fat to the hips and butt with the help of a board-certified plastic surgeon.

Dr. Alex Earle, the founder of PURE Plastic Surgery, is an Ivy League-educated, double board-certified plastic surgeon with 10 years of experience in both reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. From mommy makeovers, Brazilian Butt Lifts (BBLs), and tummy tucks to breast lifts, augmentations, and reductions, Dr. Earle and his team at PURE Plastic Surgery offer a wide range of procedures.

Given the craze surrounding BBL surgery, Dr. Earle decided to take things one step further and designed a new way to perform BBL. As he explains, with the help of a few trade secrets, is to make the BBL more subtle. The point of this procedure is to keep everyone guessing if the person even had any work done in the first place.

“We have this procedure called South Beach Butt Lift that creates a smaller hourglass shape where the butt resembles an upside-down heart — a look that keeps everyone wondering if you’ve had work done,” says Dr. Earle. “Most other surgeons leave the liposuction incisions visible, which often leave patients even more self-conscious than they were before. I strategically make the smallest incisions possible in hidden locations that, when healed, are practically invisible. And when you’re wearing a tiny bikini, nobody can see them.”

As Dr. Alex Earle explains, the mission of PURE Plastic Surgery is simple. He wants to give people a helping hand whether they need a boost, a way to take control of their life, or even a fresh start through plastic and corrective surgery. He believes that everyone deserves to be happier.

“When people come to us, they may suffer from body insecurities that deeply affect their lives, and they find that changing their physical looks improves their mental health status,” says Dr. Earle. “Someone who sees flaws when they look in the mirror every day will become a more confident and happier person when those flaws are reduced or eliminated. And that can reflect positively on their relationship with themselves and all other aspects of their lives.”
