The wait is finally over. The King Cigar Lounge has opened its doors at the perfect time! Part of a steadily growing landscape on Hope Street, the King Cigar Lounge can be found two blocks away from the Staples Center and within a short walk from all the new apartment and building and shops on the street.

Lounge owner Oscar Gutierrez’s passion for cigars started because he loved the atmosphere and camaraderie of different cigar lounges worldwide. He loved the conversations he had with fellow cigar enthusiasts. He feels downtown Los Angeles is “really growing and now is a city where people actually live rather than just a spot for work. With the development of high rise apartments and lofts the market is changing — it is thriving and lively in the evenings.” Having a cigar lounge in the middle of the city is perfect for lunch, after work and even before or after a game or concert at the Staples Center.

The humidor has one of the only Davidoff collection of cigars in Los Angeles and the humidor is stocked with other world class cigars from all over the world such as Ashton, Fuente, Casa Cuba, Olivia, Plasencia and much more. The lounge even features their own signature cigar with a robust flavor. As Gutierrez said, “Each employee has been trained and achieved certification as a Cigar Sommelier from IACS (International Association of Cigar Sommeliers). However don’t confuse being a sommelier as someone who is stuffy and arrogant. Our employees are extremely nice and down to earth.”
