Highland Park's psychedelically inclined indie pop outfit Random Patterns has released a new album today and it's absolutely free.

Rich Soil Pleasures is a seven-song set of layered-yet-light tunes that find the five-piece band laying down all manner of instrumentation (is that a glockenspiel? maybe; is that a sax? definitely) in their quest to create gnarly little listenable nuggets.

Sometimes we're reminded of Division Day. Sometimes the Clientele. Sometimes we have no idea, and that's probably a good thing.

The record was apparently recorded at The Hobby Shop West in Highland Park, weirdly enough by the producer Mudrock (Godsmack, Avenged Sevenfold, Powerman 5000) in a barter that (weirder still) found the band building him a ceiling.
