70-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck in Motorcycle Accident near Talmage Road

UKIAH, CA (August 17, 2022) – Early Sunday night, 70-year-old Douglas Prado was killed in a motorcycle collision on Highway 101.

Police responded to the scene just before 6:30 p.m., near Talmage Road on August 14th.

Investigators say Prado was riding blue 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle south on the freeway. Meanwhile, a white 2013 Toyota Venza was merging onto the southbound on-ramp, from Talmage Road.

For reasons unknown, the Toyota driver then made a turn and drove the wrong-way. As a result, the Toyota struck the motorcyclist. First responders administered CPR on Prado before he was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 6:45 p.m.

Meanwhile, the 83-year-old male driver of the Toyota from Ukiah, remained unharmed.  Although, authorities have not yet released his identity.

Crews shut down the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, an active investigation to determine further details is still currently underway.
