Willy Chavarria’s “Dos Angeles” editorial captures the essence of Los Angeles through the lens of creative director Jess Cuevas and photographer Ricardo Gomes. Set in Cuevas’ neighborhood, the project explores the city’s raw and romantic urban beauty, moving beyond Hollywood’s typical portrayal. Cuevas and Gomes, inspired by LA’s cinematic and authentic qualities, aimed to highlight the realness and beauty in everyday life. The editorial features styling by Cuevas, photography by Gomes, and grooming by Mike Fernandez. 

Cuevas spoke to PAPER Magazine about what inspires him about Los Angeles — “It is a mesmerizing hotbed of inspiration, from the signage to the people to the sun cascading through the palm trees onto the cracked pavement. My work has continually drawn inspiration from the realness of urban life. It’s raw, and it’s romantic.”
