71-Year-Old Nipomo Woman Struck in Pedestrian Collision near Jones Lane

NIPOMO, CA (March 1, 2022) – Friday afternoon, Darian Hansen struck Dorothy Desantis in a pedestrian crash on Black Lake Canyon Road.

The incident occurred around 2:20 p.m., at the intersection of Black Canyon Road and Jones Lane.

Per reports, 70-year-old Darian Lee Hansen, of Nipomo was driving a 2015 Ford F-150 when he attempted to turn south onto Jones Lane.

There, the vehicle struck 71-year-old Desantis who was walking near the Blacklake Golf Resort on Jones Lane. Upon impact, the female pedestrian fell to the ground and sustained serious injuries.

Medical crews took Dorothy Desantis to MRMC with serious injuries, including major head trauma and a broken arm. Meanwhile, Hansen did not sustain injuries.

The incident, as of this time, remains under investigation.
