Two Elderly Pedestrians Dead after Fatal Collision on 32nd Street

PHOENIX, AZ (May 2, 2022) – Tuesday evening, a pedestrian crash on Yale Street left Dorathy Chambers and Joseph Gutierrez dead.

The collision happened near 32nd and Yale Street around 8:00 p.m. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

For reasons unknown, the driver of a passing vehicle struck two pedestrians in the area. Upon arrival, authorities found Chambers and Gutierrez with critical injuries.

As a result, paramedics transported the two victims to a local hospital for further treatment. However, medics pronounced 67-year-old Chambers and 60-year-old Gutierrez dead at the hospital.

Meanwhile, the involved driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

An active investigation into the crash is currently underway, as the circumstances surrounding the accident are still unclear at this time.
