For years now, cultural legend has held that Pink Floyd's album The Dark Side of the Moon can be synchronized to classic movie The Wizard of Oz, serving as an alternate sound track. Is this for real or just an idle rumor? Well, you may never get the chance to explore the depths of Scotland's Loch Ness or witness a hovering flying saucer, but this is one mystery you can actually experience. Tonight the Actors' Gang is screening The Wizard of Oz with Dark Side of the Moon as the sound track. (The key, so the legend goes, is to start playing the album right after the MGM lion roars for the third time at the beginning of the film.) “Our screening of Dark Side of Oz last year was one of the most fun nights of the entire WTF?! Festival,” says Tim Robbins, founding artistic director of the Actors' Gang. “Even those without THC in their system gasped with delight at seeing it for the first time.” Just don't forget your red ruby slippers.
