63-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Fatal Collision on Happy Valley Road

PHOENIX, AZ (August 31, 2021) – 63-year-old Donald Beam was killed Tuesday afternoon in a 5-vehicle crash on 29th Avenue.

The deadly incident happened around 2:30 p.m., at the intersection of 29th Avenue and Happy Valley Road. Dispatchers arrived to the scene shortly after.

According to reports, the driver of a Honda Civic struck one vehicle before losing control and colliding with another. Both cars that were struck also lost control, and each hit an additional vehicle amidst the chaos.

One of the drivers that was struck was later identified as 63-year-old Donald Beam. He was transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment of life-threatening injuries.

Due to the extent of his condition, Beam was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

In addition, the driver of the Honda Civic was also taken to a local hospital and is expected to survive.

It is not yet known whether or not anyone will be facing charges. However, more information will be released once available.
