It's International Beer Day tomorrow, August 2, not to be confused with National Beer Day, which was April 7. The day was founded five years ago by an entrepreneur named Jesse Avshalomov and his friends, which when described on their website sounds exactly how you'd imagine things would have gone down between a couple of buddies interested in creating a holiday for the sole purpose of celebrating their choice of drink.

And while the origins of International Beer Day may be rather unremarkable, there's value to be found for the bar-bound in Old Town Pasadena, where Dog Haus Biergarten is holding all-day specials with $3 beer shandies and a dollar off all pints on tap from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.

Bar manager Phil Wills says the shandy will be the quintessential blend of beer and, in this case, freshly-squeezed lemonade. All the beers on tap, such as Golden Road's Get Up Offa That Brown and Stone's Pale Ale, will be available for a dollar off.
