The team was blown away 9-0 in the National League Championship Series (NLCS) in St. Louis tonight, losing the series 4 games to 2. As Dodgers announcer Vin Scully put it, ” … The agony lasted two hours and fifty-nine minutes.”

The extended season put the boys in blue back into the hearts of a Los Angeles soured by the controversial ownership tenure of Frank McCourt.

And it might have salvaged the job of manager Don Mattingly. We'll see.

Starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw was drawn into a quagmire of a third inning tonight, with 48 pitches thrown and four runs hit against him.

The Blue never turned on its offense.
