Dodger Stadium had just started to open its gates for COVID-19 testing on May 26, but as protests grew in size and a state of emergency was declared in the city, testing sites began to close this weekend.

Mayor Eric Garcetti said that several testing sites closed early Saturday, as volunteers didn’t feel safe.

“I will have my staff and my team, together with the fire department to make sure we have our largest one open at Dodger Stadium,” Garcetti said in an address to the city.

Additionally, the walk-up testing site at the Kedrin Community Health Center will also be open.

The stadium had the ability to test up to 6,000 people per day, making it the largest testing site in Los Angeles.

Those wanting to get tested can sign up online, or call (213) 978-1028. All tests are free, regardless if one has symptoms or not.
