Dutch DJ Sander Kleinenberg is one of the few decksmen who can actually pull off the, “This Is” prefix in front of his name (it’s on all his advertised gigs right now). The words actually refer to the title of his latest 2-disc mix CD, but he’s also been throwing parties under the “This Is” umbrella, and apparently they’re less about pomposity and more about the party (though he is pretty high on the progressive dance-music totem pole). DVD technology is a big part of an S.K. set, so expect this one to be innovative and future-forward, both beat- and visual-wise. Kleinenberg is, in fact, so sought after, he’ll spin for Avaland rival Club Giant the night before (in San Diego), so if you’re up for a double dose of his dance euphoria, make the drive. (1735 Vine St.; Sat., April 19, 10 p.m.-4 a.m.; over 21. www.avalonhollywood.com). If not, we recommend visiting Vanguard, Giant’s L.A. home, the night before, when Epic Fridays hosts an Ed Hardy Fashion Show. The clothes themselves are totally cheesy, but the shows we’ve been to have always been shamefully circuslike. Hosted by Jeremy Jackson (Hobey from Baywatch!) and celebrating some chick from Rock of Love’s birthday, the best part of this B-lister bonanza will definitely be the DJ sets by turntable terrors David Rockwell (86), Brian Matrix, KO and DJ Rush. 6021 Hollywood Blvd.; Fri., April 18, 10 p.m.- 2 a.m.; over 21.
