L.A.s DJ Dan continues to be one of our favorite club DJs of all time. He's a one-man party starter whose loopy, up-tempo funk is hard for your good foot to ignore.

This month he dives into the DJ podcast game with the first of what appears to be a regular series of free “Stereo Damage” mixes distributed via iTunes. The timing isn't shy: He's releasing his first artist album, Future Retro, Sept. 14 via Nettwerk. (Check out a sample here).

The set is more tribal and housey than Dan's usually raved-up, dizzying, peak-time journeys. We like the deeper side of Dan, and this one reminds us a little of the DJ Chus sound we've been espousing for years.
