Case material against rocker Marilyn Manson was presented to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s (LADA) office after a 19-month sexual assault investigation.

Investigators from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Dept. (LASD) presented “partial case material,” according to the LADA’s office, adding that review of the material will take time.

“There is more material that is still outstanding, however, we do not have a timeline for the additional submission from the LASD,” The LADA said in a statement. “Once we receive everything, experienced prosecutors will carefully and deliberatively [sic] review everything that has been submitted prior to making a filing decision. This review will take some time but rest assured our office takes these allegations very seriously.”

LASD began the investigation in February of 2021 after Manson’s ex-fiance, Evan Rachel Wood, brought forth domestic abuse allegations.

Wood had testified in domestic violence congressional hearings in the past, but did not name Manson until 2021.

“The incidents occurred between 2009 and 2011 when Mr. Warner lived in the city of West Hollywood, The Sheriff’s Special Victims Bureau said in a February 2021 statement. “Manson has denied the allegations of abuse, calling his accusers’ statements ‘horrible distortions of reality.'”

Days after the February 1, 2021 allegations from Wood, LAPD conducted a wellness check on Manson in his Hollywood Hills home after friends and family could not get hold of him on February 4.

Shortly after, Manson made a statement through social media, calling the accusations a “horrible distortion of reality.

“Obviously my art and my life have long been magnets for controversy, but these recent claims about me are horrible distortions of reality,” Manson said in February of 2021. “My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners. Regardless of how — and why — others are now choosing to misrepresent the past, that is the truth.”

The allegation led to Manson being dropped from his contract with Loma Vista Recordings.
