Drew TewksburyThe Dirty Projectors performance at the Walt Disney Concert Hall Feb. 27th will be a crate digger. The experimental popster will present the manic explorations of their acclaimed Bitte Orca album, but will play their 2005 cult album The Getty Address in its entirety. It's an odd concept album “roughly about a guy named Don Henley who falls in love with a girl named Sacagawea.” It's a cult film in the indie world, nearly pushing experimentalism to its breaking point. Preceding the The Getty Address, according to PR, “The concert will be a collaborative endeavor: the first half of the program features the Los Angeles Philharmonic performing Philip Glass' Prelude from Akhnaten and Maurice Ravel's Suite from Mother Goose, chosen by the Los Angeles Philharmonic and David Longstreth of Dirty Projectors.”
