It was bad enough that Angelenos and other Americans had to endure watching key medal events long after the results had been blasted worldwide.
DirecTV subjected its L.A.-area customers to the ultimate fail last night when its feed of NBC's coverage of the closing ceremonies went down during prime time.
Customers complained that …
… performances by Annie Lennox and the Spice Girls were blacked out before the feed was restored about 10 p.m. or so.
DirecTV appeared to be silent on the matter, but many Twitter users weren't:
Hey
@directv thanks for dropping the olympics closing ceremony feed in LA. Job well done.— Charles Riley (@CRrileyCNN) August 13, 2012
Unbelievable!
@directv totally loses@nbcolympics feed in Los Angeles!— Michael Linder (@michaellinder) August 13, 2012
Swear to God, if someone gives me the mobile telephone number of the CEO of Direct TV I will bloody well tweet it

NBC Los Angeles (channel 4) was rebroadcasting what satellite customers missed at midnight.
