DUI Crash near Waterman Avenue Kills Pedestrian; Diego Eduardo Cachua Arrested

SAN BERNARDINO, CA (October 7, 2021) – Authorities arrested 25-year-old Diego Eduardo Cachua after a deadly DUI accident on Rialto Avenue.

The tragic crash happened around 10:41 p.m. October 4, in the area of Rialto Avenue near Waterman Avenue.

According to reports, a witness saw a vehicle struck a pedestrian in the roadway. Responding officers located the victim lying on the ground.

Paramedics then transported the victim to Loma Linda University Medical Center where the victim later died. 

Fortunately, the police eventually caught the driver who fled the scene after the collision.  Authorities located the assailant on the 10 at Euclid Avenue in Ontario.

Furthermore, CHP arrested Diego Eduardo Cachua on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) causing injury or death.

At this point, police have not confirmed their identities nor their conditions. However, an active investigation is currently underway.
