Today Gawker confirms that the naked nude semi-naked sexy pictures purporting to show Christina Aguilera scantily-clad in burlesque gear are indeed semi-naked sexy pictures of Christina Aguilera. Do you think Christina Aguilera, or someone close to her, despite the usual vocal outrage, leaked these (NSFW) pictures on purpose? And why? Here are some pros and cons for that theory:

Do you think the Christian Aguilera sexy pictures (pictures here, possibly NSFW) were leaked on purpose?

Pro (the pictures were leaked on purpose)

– Burlesque, her gay-baiting musical comedy co-starring Cher is currently underperforming at the box office.

– She's going through a messy divorce and needs to “re-direct” the gossip conversation about her public persona.

– Four words: Paris Hilton Kim Kardashian. Where are they now? Oh, everywhere.

– Christina has become a gay icon of sorts. Time to rebrand her as a straight-baiting, Maxim-cover-style piece of ass?

– All kinds of attention-getting websites (ahem) who would not otherwise write about Christina Aguilera (ahem) are today writing about Christina Aguilera (ahem ahem).

– She's not, you know, actually naked in the photos. She's clearly trying on the costumes for Burlesque. There, we also mentioned Burlesque.

– There's nothing “harmful” or “embarrassing” in those pictures (e.g., Brandy's brother is not taking her from behind, etc.)

Con (the pictures were, as Christina's statement claims, “taken in the privacy of Ms. Aguilera's home and were used only in a personal exchange between the star and her stylist.”)

– She doesn't look too cute in the pictures.

– One of them even shows her without make-up:

(This is probably the strongest argument against a deliberate leak on Christina's part–tits are one thing, but it's unlikely she'd have agreed to the no make-up pics. Her people, on the other hand…)
