Diamond Johnson was shot to death outside his South Los Angeles home January 3. According to police reports, Johnson, 27, was standing outside at 1:30 pm near Naomi Avenue and East 33rd Street when he was approached by a lone gunman and shot.

The shooter fled. Johnson was transported to USC Medical Center where he died of his injuries. Police believe the incident was gang-related and possibly a case of mistaken identity because Johnson was not a gang member.
