Bakersfield Hit-and-Run Driver Injured 11-Year-Old Girl
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 8, 2022) – Authorities arrested 79-year-old Dhanjibhai Patel after injuring an 11-year-old girl in a hit-and-run crash on Bakersfield Saturday.
According to the police, officers responded to the incident around 8:47 p.m. in the 11000 block of Brimhall.
Upon arrival, they located the girl lying in the roadway suffering from major injuries.
Eventually, they transported her to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Investigators said the 11-year-old girl was walking with her mother and her 4-year-old sibling when she was struck by an SUV.
In the end Bakersfield Officials managed to locate the hit-and-run suspect, identified as 79-year-old Dhanjibhai Patel, near Brimhall Road and Old Farm Road.
Furthermore, authorities charged Patel with felony hit-and-run causing injury or death.
