1 Killed, Multiple Hurt in Deadly Car Accident near 163rd Avenue

PHOENIX, AZ (April 14, 2022) – Late Monday morning, Dewey Franklin Sigler was arrested after a fatal car accident on US 60.

The incident occurred around 11:00 a.m., near 163rd Avenue. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

Per reports, Sigler was driving an eastbound Penske truck and struck three vehicles that were stopped for traffic ahead. The truck initially struck a Toyota, pushing the Toyota into the desert, and injuring the two occupants inside.

The truck also collided with a Nissan Altima, killings its driver. Although, authorities have not yet released the deceased victim’s identity.

Shortly after, the driver of tractor-trailer also struck the truck. However, the tractor-trailer driver remained uninjured.

Crews transported 57-year-old Sigler to a hospital for further treatment of unspecified injuries.

Following preliminary investigations, officers booked Sigler into a Maricopa County jail on suspicion of one count of reckless manslaughter, one count of narcotic drug possession, and one count of drug paraphernalia possession.

Moreover, authorities set Bond for Sigler at $500,000. A preliminary hearing has been set for April 14.
