Some details are trickling in about Petit Trois, the restaurant opening next to Trois Mec from the same owners – Ludo Lefebvre, Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo. About a month ago, Lefebvre tweeted that the three had taken over the tiny next-door space, and Dotolo confirmed to L.A. Weekly that they were in the planning stages of a new restaurant with a full liquor license. At the time, no details were available about the concept going into the space. ” As far as food goes, we've kicked some ideas around, but nothing's set in stone,” Dotolo said.

But now, Lefebvre tells us that the space will be a small wine bar focusing on French wine and food. The menu hasn't been decided yet, but the idea right now is to do more classic French cooking and do it well.

Lefebvre bemoaned the fact that there is so much great Italian food in L.A. and America, from high-end to casual, but despite its influence on the technique of so many chefs, great French food is scarce.

Los Angeles also is not exactly rich in great wine bars, so that too will be exciting to see.

We'll bring you more details as they become available.
