Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Responding Officer near Broadway

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (August 30, 2022) – On Saturday morning, Derrick Deon Flanders died in a pedestrian crash on North Pacific Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at 5:40 a.m. near North Pacific Avenue and Broadway.

Furthermore, investigators reported that a Huntington Beach Officer was responding to a call before striking the pedestrian.

Unfortunately, 45-year-old Derrick Deon Flanders died at the hospital due to the extent of their injuries.

At this time, Huntington Beach Officials are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the North Pacific Avenue pedestrian crash.
