62-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck in Motorcycle Collision near Brown Road

OAKLEY, CA (December 19, 2022) – Late Friday evening, Derrick Canada was killed in a motorcycle crash on Laurel Road.

The incident occurred around 10:47 p.m., near Brown Road.

Per reports, a motorcyclist lost control and fell on the road before he was struck by another passing vehicle. Medics arrived and pronounced 62-year-old Canada dead at the scene.

In addition, the involved driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Investigators say the driver did not see the motorcyclist at the time.

Following preliminary duties, police stated that neither alcohol or drugs were factors in the deadly incident. Meanwhile, emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.
