39-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Crash near South Real Road

BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 7, 2022) – Friday evening, Derek Lee Ramirez Morgan was killed in a hit-and-run pedestrian collision on White Lane.

The incident occurred around 9:45 p.m., at the 3800 block of White Lane near South Real Road.

According to reports, the driver of a gray Subaru WRX sedan struck a pedestrian in the area. Upon impact, the Subaru driver did not render aid to the victim and fled the scene.

Medical personnel arrived and pronounced 39-year-old Morgan, of Taft dead at the scene.

Following preliminary duties, Bakersfield police believe the suspect vehicle has front-end damage. Those with further information are encouraged to contact BPD at 661-327-7111.
