75-Year-Old Man Fatally Injured in Wrong-Way Accident near Michigan Avenue
CORNING, CA (December 12, 2022) – Monday night, Denver Williams was killed in a head-on semi-truck crash on South Avenue.
The collision happened around 5:40 p.m., near Michigan Avenue, per initial reports.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver of a 2006 Kia Sorento attempted to pass a vehicle at an unknown rate of speed. The Kia then entered the oncoming lane and collided head-on with an eastbound 2019 Freightliner Cascadia big-rig.
Due to the impact of the collision, the 75-year-old man driving the Kia sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials later identified the deceased man as Williams, of Corning.
Meanwhile, the big-rig driver, identified as Jatinder Sidhu, sustained minor injuries from the accident.
