Semi-Truck Collision on Temescal Canyon Road Left One Fatality

CORONA, CA (July 7, 2022) – A fiery semi-truck crash on 15 Freeway killed Demetrius Powell, early Friday morning.

Officers responded to the scene around 2:40 a.m., on the southbound lanes of the freeway near the Temescal Canyon Road on-ramp.

According to reports, a big-rig hauling food products failed to slow down and rear-ended a Kia. Upon impact, the semi-truck lost control and rolled over onto its side.

Additionally, the semi-truck became engulfed in flames; however, authorities were able to quickly extinguish the fire. First responders declared 31-year-old Powell dead at the scene, due to the extent of his injuries.

Anyone with further information regarding the fatal accident are encouraged to contact Corona authorities as soon as possible.
