A man who was shot in the head in front of a hamburger stand in South Los Angeles May 6 has been identified as 20-year-old Demetrius D. Meriwether.

The fatal shooting occurred just before 1:30 p.m. in front of Jim's Burgers at 240 W. Adams Blvd., near South Grand Avenue.

Police believe that Meriwether, who died at the scene, was the intended target and the shooting appeared to be gang-related. Anyone with information about the shooting should contact LAPD Southwest Division detectives at (213) 485-2582.
