Delta 8 THC, the younger brother of Delta 9 THC, has the same benefits you enjoy from regular weed strains. But if you’re wondering whether or not the Delta 8 THC gives a similar high, we’re here to help.

What is Delta 8 THC?

The scientific name for it is delta-8-Tetrahydrocannabinol, and users of regular weed strains and byproducts usually refer to it as the younger brother of Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol.  The Delta 8 THC is a cannabinoid, meaning it is a compound derived from cannabis.

Like Delta-9, the Delta 8 THC also contains psychoactive ingredients that get you high. Organic synthesis is used to extract the compound from CBD.

Many have quoted that this form of TCH has a more “mellow” effect than regular THC. The Delta 8 THC is usually sold in the form of gummies or vapes. Even physically, Delta 8 THC oil looks a lot like CBD or THC oil.

However, we were curious to find out how similar were the effects of both Delta-8 and Delta-9.

In the Spotlight

The reason that Delta-8 is gaining so much popularity these days is that it’s legal. According to law, the THC levels should be less than 0.3%, which means Delta-9 is no good. Because Delta 8 is derived after diluting down THC levels found in hemp, there’s a loophole to benefit from.

There are no laws against Delta 8 THC, so we can enjoy the ride till it lasts.

What Does the Delta 8 THC High Feel Like?

Please be informed that this is not a scientific experiment, and the experience may vary from person to person.

(Now that that’s out of the way, let’s jump right into it.)

You will find a lot of Delta 8 THC reviews online. However, we’ve experimented with many different forms of regular weed- be it joints, dabs, or edibles. So, it was only fair that we draw comparisons after doing a little DIY experiment ourselves.

We decided to go with the Delta 8 Edible Sour Bears because we’ve tried the same with regular THC. To make it a little more interesting, we decided to try it out in 2 different phases: In the first phase, we took a 50 mg dose (2 gummies), and in the second phase, we took a 100 mg dose (4 gummies).

Here’s what happened:

The 50 mg Ride

Even pro smokers feel the punch when it comes to edibles, so we were quite skeptical about this from the get-go. Let’s say we were prepared to hate it before we even tried the Delta 8 THC gummies. However, everything changed on the first day.

We took the first dose on an empty stomach to see the extent of the high. THC high usually is at its peak within 2-4 hours. However, we started feeling that ‘buzz’ after the first 45 minutes.

Unlike regular weed strains, specifically Indica that leaves you in the couch for hours on end, we felt energetic and productive. We got done with the chores and all of the day’s work without feeling lazy. In addition to this, we didn’t feel the need to doze off to get the THC out of our system.

Concluding Thoughts: The Delta 8 THC gummies felt more like an anxiolytic than anything else. If you want to get high but still want to get the work done throughout the day, you will do so with these gummies.

If you’ve especially been running away from THC because of the effects it has had on you, the Delta-8 is perfect for you. It will give the benefits of THC with a light, tolerable high.

The 100 mg Ride

Come next day, and we decided to up our game with four gummies instead of 2. If two were enough to make us a little high and a lot energetic, then what would 4 do?

Well, to come clean, the four gummies didn’t do anything different. We felt the same buzz we did a day before. W felt nothing out of the ordinary, and the high was not too extreme this time around either.

We found that the number of gummies we took did not change the experience. This means we could have taken more throughout the day without feeling super high.

Concluding Thoughts: We were a little disappointed after taking the 100 mg dose, but that could be because our expectations of getting high were higher. No matter how many gummies you eat, there’s no getting high off the roof with the Delta 8 THCgummies.

If you’re looking to get a little high throughout the day and the regular THC doesn’t suit you, these would be a great first step.

Ending Note

The Delta 8 THC products would be best for you if you want to enjoy the benefits of THC but don’t want to get stuck on your couch all day. This would be a great start for beginners who have been anxious to try out weed.

If you wish to smoke it instead of trying edibles, there are many Delta 8 Vapes available in the market. The vapes come in many different flavors, including THC from Indica, Sativa, and Hybrid strains.

The Delta 8 THC is growing popular day by day, and it would be a shame if you didn’t try it. Who knows when another law will be passed banning the byproduct?
