More sad news at the end of the year: Delicieuse, one of our favorite gelato shops in all of Los Angeles, is closing. The small Redondo Beach store, known for its mild goat's milk ice cream and intense fruit sorbets, will shutter after January 1st.

In a farewell email, Delicieuse founder Patricia Samson writes:

“I believe that tougher economic times are ahead for the US and Europe. Nevertheless, we have plenty of blessings in our life we take for granted. Thanks again for the support and beautiful memories over the last 5 years.”

She also noted that she will be making two special flavors: rice as “rice is a symbol of prosperity in the Filipino culture” and a test-batch of 100% cacao chocolate ice cream. “Yes, 100% cacao with no additive added,” Samson writes.

This last weekend, Delicieuse's hours are:

Friday, Dec. 30: 1 – 7 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 30: 1 – 7 p.m.

Sunday, Jan. 1: 1 – 6 p.m.

Select pints will be 40% off. (Cash or check only.)
