Woman Killed in Solo-Car Crash near Highway 50

FOLSOM, CA (July 19, 2022) – 27-year-old Delia Latu died on Monday after a single-car accident on Folsom Boulevard.

The crash took place on July 4th, along eastbound Folsom Boulevard near Highway 50.

According to reports, Latu was driving at a high-speed rate, when for unknown reasons, she crashed into a pillar under the Highway 50 bridge.

Additionally, a second vehicle collided into Latu’s already crashed car.

Eventually, due to the severity of her injuries, responding officers pronounced Latu dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle escaped with minor injuries.

Furthermore, police temporarily closed both directions of Highway 50 to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

Latu’s family and friends have set up a GoFundMe page to help with her funeral expenses.

At this time, CHP has no further information about the crash. However, an active investigation is underway.
