UPDATE at 4:08 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2015: The man has been identified. See our latest here.

A person who attended Electric Daisy Carnival Saturday has died, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reports.

The deceased is a 24-year-old man, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. We contacted police for details but could not reach anyone.

The cause of death would be determined by coroner's officials.

It appears the three-day festival sold more than 130,000 three-day tickets. Promoters say about 135,000 people attended EDC last night.

Several deaths have been connected to EDC over the years. Outcry over the 2010 demise of a 15-year-old girl who had taken ecstasy and who had sneaked into the event at the Los Angeles Coliseum precipitated its move to Las Vegas in 2011.

It seems 2015 was the last year of a five-year contract for the DJ-driven EDC at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It's not clear to us if the promoter inked a new deal.

Last night's attractions included a surprise appearance by actor Bryan Cranston, who “pushed the button” to start an Above & Beyond song that's an homage to his Breaking Bad TV character, Walter White.

Most of the EDC deaths involved the drug MDMA, also known as ecstasy or molly. Despite electronic dance music's mainstream evolution, including mega-promoter Live Nation's investment in EDC promoter Insomniac Events, based in Beverly Hills, the drug continues to cloud the scene.

Police say there were 408 medical calls connected to the party last night, with seven people taken to hospitals. Twenty-six people were arrested on suspicion of narcotics-related felonies, Metro police said.

On Friday night 506 medical calls were logged, cops said: Ten people were taken to hospitals; 19 people were arrested for drug-related allegations. Promoters estimated attendance of 134,000 that night.

Temps in Las Vegas this weekend reached beyond 110 degrees, prompting fears that overheated ecstasy users could end up in hospitals.

ADDED at 3:56 p.m., Tuesday, June 23: Metro police today reported that there were 512 “mostly minor” medical calls Sunday at the festival. Ten people were taken to hospitals, cops said. Thirty-one “mostly narcotics related” felony arrests were reported by the department.

Promoters say 135,000 people were on-hand Sunday night.
