Amber Rayne, a former adult video star who became one of several women to allege that porn star James Deen assaulted them, was pronounced dead in her Los Angeles home over the weekend, authorities said.

She was 31.

Rayne, whose real name was Meghan Wren, was pronounced dead at 3:16 p.m. Saturday at a home in the 10000 block of Wealtha Avenue in Sun Valley, said L.A. County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner assistant chief Ed Winter.

The cause of death was pending, he said. An autopsy had yet to be completed, and toxicology testing that would determine what, if any, drugs Rayne had in her system would take weeks, Winter said.

“It was reported as a possible accident or overdose,” he said.

Rayne started her adult-video career in 2005 and retired in 2015. Images on her Facebook page appear to support biographies that say she was a horse trainer and aficionado.

Late last year Rayne accused Deen of punching her in the face during a porn scene. She came forward after several others accused the performer of rape or assault, both on- and off-set.

Rayne gave a graphic and explicit account to former adult star Aurora Snow, who wrote about it in the Daily Beast.

Performer and former girlfriend Stoya was the first to levy such accusations at Deen when she tweeted in November that he had allegedly raped her.

Deen has denied the allegations.

Rayne, a Detroit native with hundreds of credits in adult video, was mourned on Twitter as a kind soul.
