The Lomita chef alleged to have killed and then slow-cooked his wife in 2009 was put behind bars today for 15 years to life.

David Viens tried to persuade the judge to give him a new trial and even recanted his confession to sheriff's deputies, saying in court today that “I loved my wife. I didn't cook my wife.”

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Rand S. Rubin wasn't having any of what the cook was serving up:

He denied Viens' request for a new trial and gave him that time behind bars.

The onetime chef at now-shuttered Thyme Contemporary Cafe, owned by his mom, told investigators in 2011 that he killed his wife Dawn in an unexpected fit of rage on Oct. 18, 2009.

“For some reason I just got violent,” the 49-year-old said.

Viens admitted to binding his 39-year-old wife's mouth, hands and feet with duct tape, stuffing her body into a 55-gallon drum of boiling water and cooking it there as it was held down with weights:

I cooked her four days. I let her cool, I strained it out …

Her remains have not been found.
