Man Dead after Fatal Auto Collision near Cherry Avenue in Long Beach
LONG BEACH, CA (November 4, 2021) – Early Thursday morning, David Verweyst Jr. was killed in a crash on the 405 Freeway.
California Highway Patrol responded to the incident around 4:40 a.m., near Cherry Avenue after receiving multiple dispatch calls.
The events leading up to the deadly accident still remain unclear. However, authorities declared 41-year-old David Verweyst Jr. dead at the scene.
Moreover, Long Beach officials closed down four southbound freeway lanes for at least three hours.
